PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE October 2000 to Present, Consultant, Colorado Systems & Desktop Administrator Consultant
Multiple engagements working with Corporate Internets, Intranets, and Web Hosting solutions in mixed environments. Technologies included Unix (Solaris, BSD, Linux), Windows Server, Microsoft Exchange Server, Firewalls, Switches, VOIP, SAN, and NAS. Solutions include complete datacenter build out, maintenance, and datacenter upgrades.
Responsible for design and deployment of Anti-Virus software throughout corporate environments (servers, workstations, laptops). Designed and deployed maintenance methodology for system patches and virus updates.
Established and maintained standards & practices for initial datacenter deployment, day to day operations, database replication, standby servers, Active Directory Maintenance, virus monitoring, and deployment of clustering technology.
Contracted to write technical interview questionnaires for recruiters. These questionnaires included subjects such as Windows, Unix, Active Directory, SQL, and general Systems Administration.
Marquee projects to date:
Sprint Mobile (Internal Development Datacenter) Was brought on to manage the build out and deployment of Sprint’s mobile network development center in Denver. Duties included coordination with multiple vendors and corporate departments throughout the country to arrange for network connectivity and hardening (security and virus protection).
Newmont Mining Corporation (Intranet/internet Datacenter) Was brought on initially as a developer, duties expanded to making critical path decisions on existing and future deployments for mission critical intranet applications (Apache, Cold Fusion, Oracle). Enhanced performance and security by making specific recommendations to their existing environment.
Catholic Store, Inc (Intranet/internet Datacenter) Brought in as an SA for a small business with an eCommerce web site as well as a custom built internal POS system. Revamped entire system from a botched Windows 2000/SQL Server 2000 Install to a fully functional, integrated, and secure domain/ADS environment, thus significantly cutting down on security risk and maintenance costs. Designed, developed, installed, and maintained network environment including keeping operating system, applications, and virus software patched and updated.
X2Delta Networks (Web Hosting Datacenter) Managed and hands on work on a new build out, from the vision to implementation phase of a datacenter build out. Environment is a mixed Windows and Linux environment, with Windows running ads, web, ftp, mail, and database services; and Linux running firewall and domain name services. Designed and implemented security and maintenance protocols, including software upgrades, virus protection, and backup.
Sanford Homes (Intranet site only) Sanford Homes is national homebuilder, and has its headquarters in Denver. Was brought in to help Sanford employees leverage data via an intranet web site from their AS400. This work expanded to include security and operational oversight of the datacenter. This work included all aspects of the Sanford’s work, including sales, construction, and warranty support. Wrote Cold Fusion applications to leverage the LDAP functionality of Windows 2000 ADS for security. Technologies included Windows 2000, Active Directory, Cold Fusion (4.0, 4.5, and 5.0), Microsoft SQL Server, Stored Procedures, javascript, dhtml, javascript, and DB2.
Got a Job (no longer in business) Got a job was a startup designed to match employers of high turnover companies (fast food for example) to potential employees. Brought on as a project manager, I was responsible for troubleshooting and fixing a problematic development team methodology and structure, as well as a poorly designed datacenter and code base. Moved client in house development and datacenter teams to latest releases of Cold Fusion and Windows. Technologies included Windows, Solaris Unix, Cold Fusion, Oracle, javascript, dhtml, html, and Java.
March 2000 to September 2000, Sprint Enterprise Network Solutions, Colorado Project Manager, Spectra Development Center Internet Architect, eBusiness Solutions, Internet Development Center
Internet Architect responsible for designing and developing solutions on high visibility deployments. Technologies include Allaire Spectra, Cold Fusion, Sun Solaris, and Oracle 8i. All projects were enterprise level projects involving a clustered, multiple server environment. Responsibilities included full life cycle project work, as well as positioning Sprint hardware and software solutions to meet client needs (firewall, virus protection, applications, web space, etc).

Project Manager responsible for complete life cycle development of several large projects using Cold Fusion - portal sites, eBusiness solutions, etc. Took lead developer role in smaller projects using such technologies as Cold Fusion, Microsoft SQL Server, Oracle 8I, JavaScript, and html. Managed personnel to form teams of 5 to 15 people with specialized skills in web site design and database management, supervised data entry engineers, performed performance evaluations, projected future budgets, coordinated team projects across department boundaries.
